Band Programme For Year 2002

Saturday 1st June Rothie Gala
Saturday 8th June Thainstone Mart - A Taste of Grampian A dull but mild day; rain threatened throughout. A Taste of Grampian goes from strength to strength. The two performances went well, 11.30 and 13.30. Mitchell's provided a welcome lunch, as always.
Saturday 15th June Meldrum Sports. Entertainment only - (No Competition again!!) A good Band turnout. One of the wettest sports on record! Fortunately the rain stopped to allow the Band to march around the arena with Kintore Band at the start of the sports, entertain the public mid-afternoon and take part in the massed pipes and drums at about 17.15.
Saturday 22nd June Chris Anderson Stadium - Cancer Research sponsored 24 hour relay event. An early morning engagement; well for some! Dougald Robertson in charge. The Band played selections to entertain those present and assemble the first participants. We then lead the procession on the first lap around the stadium.
Saturday 22nd June Monymusk Gala Started the afternoon conducted by the sponsor on a magical mystery tour through the streets, alleys, passageways (and gardens?) of Monymusk to raise money for the Gala. Held a couple of performances in the Park in between torrential rainstorms.
Saturday 27th July Banchory Show A glorious day, well attended by spectators and Band members alike. Paraded down the High St., and into the Park. The pipes sounded well for the two performances in the arena. A thoroughly enjoyable outing.
Wednesday 7th August Inverurie Loco Works Football Club Engagement to entertain spectators before the match and at half-time.
Saturday 17th August Aberchirder Flower Show
Sunday 31st August Insch Gala
Saturday 7th September Braemar Highland Games
